Public Service Superannuation Plan

The PSSP provides retirement benefits to many Nova Scotians that work in the public service. Members in the Plan may work in a government department, the health care system, or at one of several Agencies, Boards or Commissions.
The PSSP is governed by its own pension legislation, the Public Service Superannuation Act, which was extensively updated in April 2012. The Plan does not fall under the scope of Nova Scotia's Pension Benefits Act.
The PSSP transitioned to a joint governance structure on April 1st, 2013. The trustee of the PSSP is the Public Service Superannuation Plan Trustee Inc. At the direction of, and under the oversight of the trustee, the Nova Scotia Pension Services Corporation administers the PSSP.
